Manistee River - 3/30 Report

I got a call from SteelSlam.... a long time friend and fisherman who has been fishing this week.

Official Count for March 30th was 1 for 3 on Steelhead.  He said that the browns are active and he caught quite a few smaller fish.  The steelhead action is still a bit slow with water temps between 37 F and 38 F.  The fish activity will increase rapidly when the water temp rises into the mid 40's.

The preferred bait of choice.... ALL ( Spawn, Wet Fly and Minnows )  You can add Wax Worm, Wigglers and body baits as well.

The proposed fishing plan for March 31st is to head down river to Manistee Lake or fishing near the Breakwall at the mouth of the river and the big lake.

The weekly Manistee fishing report is a summary of salt water and fresh water fishing activity in Manistee collected from tackle stores around the state. This offers information on when to fish, how to catch, which species are biting and where to fish them.
